2013 Nationals Update Shintora-kai Canada would like to congratulate its two athletes who were members of the Provincial Team representing Karate New Brunswick at the recent National Championships. Representing us were Gabriel Gates and Kyle Sprague, both of Kings County Shintora-kai. Additionally representing us were Shihan Paul Jimmo, the chair of the Provincial Officials committee, and Kancho Paul Oliver, the head coach for the province.
Gabriel and Kyle had their work cut out for them, as they had a very stacked divisions to deal with. However, Gabriel fought his way to the Gold medal match, but had to withdraw from the final match due to an injury in his previous match. So Mr. Gates garnered the Silver medal in Mens Openweight. Unfortunately Gabriel and Kyle had to fight each other in the preliminary rounds. We are very proud of the success of our people.
